Gymnastics is a discipline

Discipline is taught very early within the sport of gymnastics. A gymnast needs to be able to have discipline in order to have success. Young gymnasts will miss out on many events outside of the gym if they are serious about the sport. Many boys and girls will miss birthday parties, sleepovers, school functions, etc. in order to be in the gym training. This requires the discipline to be able to stay focused on the goal and understanding it will pay off in the long run.

strength training

Aerobic activity strengthens your heart and lungs. Stretching improves your flexibility. Strength training uses resistance, like free weights, weight machines, resistance bands, or a person’s own weight, to build muscles and strength. Teens may want to strength train to improve sports performance, treat or prevent injuries, or improve appearance.

mind & body

Gymnastics fuels the brain and body for learning. The sport encompasses each essential movement necessary for development on the Kinetic Scale. Children in gymnastics learn social skills. The benefits of gymnastics sprawl into the classroom. Listening to instructions, taking turns, respecting authority, building friendships, and learning to work independently are all benefits of gymnastics. Gymnasts learn work ethic. Gymnastics skills take time and repetition to master. Also, gymnasts must condition physically and mentally to prepare for the proper execution of skills. Gymnastics improves self esteem. There are many physical health benefits of gymnastics
